Getting organised for your wedding day.
First thing you need to both do is decide what is your "dream wedding". Is it in a church, on a beach, in a garden or at the registry office. Do you want 10 guests or 110 guests. Everybody is different and have different ideas about what they want. Determining the style of your wedding early in the planning stages helps you keep your event around a theme such as lavender, paua, beach, Scottish, heritage, etc. For example, you might like a paua theme where you have paua included on your invitations, table cards, flowers, hair, jewellery etc. It can influence the style of dress worn, the flowers, the suits, the invitations, the locations and reception theme and it is a good idea for coordinating your whole wedding uniquely for you.
The popular wedding season in Dunedin is late September through to April the following year (Spring, summer and early autumn). Saturdays are traditionally the most popular but Sundays and Fridays are also good days to consider getting married. Many popular wedding services such as photographers and reception venues are easier to obtain when booked on these days. Some even offer discounts for off peak days.
